We are a small, friendly, village group with charitable status,
owned and run by the parents of the children attending the group.
We are registered with Ofsted and adhere to the Guidelines
of the Children Act of 1989, belong to the
Pre-school Learning Alliance Accreditation Scheme
with a Quality Assurance Award and are
OFSTED inspected.
Our aim is to enhance the development and education of children
under statutory school age. To provide a safe, stimulating and
secure environment, whilst working within a framework,
which ensures equality of opportunity for all children and families.
In our parent-involved community based group, we offer the
opportunity for you and your family to be directly involved in
your child's progress and in the activities of the group.
We provide personal, social and emotional development,
mathematical development, language and literacy, communication,
understanding of the world, physical and creative development.
Pre-school is all about children learning through play.
Play is a child's work, the means by which they grow and develop.
Play enables children to gain in self-esteem and assists in
developing their personal identity, to achieve success and to
acknowledge failure as part of the learning process.
Play is necessary to increase their ability to understand and use
language effectively. Children learn to share the toys, the leader's
time and enjoy the company of other children and adults.
During 1994 the group very successfully completed the
Pre-school Learning Alliance Accreditation Scheme.
Accreditation shows that the group offers good quality care and
education for pre-school children with play activities appropriate to
the children's age and stage of development, with adults who are
skilled and trained and, above all, committed to the children.
The group was re-accredited in Jan 1998 and again in Nov 2001.
Having this award ensures that Humpty's Pre-school continues to
receive the proper recognition for the very high standard of
education and care we provide for children in our group.
Humpty's Pre-school is OFSTED inspected and the
Humpty's Ofsted Inspection Report is readily available.
